Bob

As
a young boy growing up in Powhatan, Bob Cosby
set two important goals.
He wanted to be a farmer like his dad,
and he wanted to serve his community on the
Board of Supervisors. |

attended Powhatan
High School where he played in the band and on the football
and baseball teams. |

Elizabeth
and Bob
|
While a student at PHS, Bob met his wife,
Elizabeth. Her
family lived on
Huguenot Springs Road
near the Powhatan/Chesterfield line.
At the time, a number of families in that
area thought they were in the Midlothian school
district, but their homes turned out to be in Powhatan
County. So,
in the middle of Elizabeth’s ninth grade year, she and a number of her
fellow students had to switch to Powhatan
schools where she met Bob. |
| After
graduating from Virginia Tech, Bob returned to
his family’s farm and fulfilled his dream of
making his living right here in Powhatan, like
three generations before him.

and his brother, Gabe, worked together on their
family’s dairy and poultry farm.

At
age 34, Bob began to serve as a member of the
Board of Supervisors and has been working ever
since to help make Powhatan a better place.

and Elizabeth have four children:
Harriette, Rob, Elizabeth, and Hank.
They have seven
grandchildren.
Bob and Elizabeth are members of May
Memorial
Baptist
Church.
